I do a variety of photo projects, but one stands out as my favorite. And with that, I guess I could say that my life has "Gone to the Dogs.” Since childhood I have had a canine companion. After a few years of marriage, we decided to add a dog to our lives. We lost her in 2020 after 15 years of doggie dedication. She lived a great life.
Lucy came into our lives and like many other dog owners have experience and what we dubbed, “A Dogs World.” She quickly became our child. She insisted on carrying her own leash, went to bed at 9:30 sharp with or without us and when she's tired, she displays her infamous “you're looking at me” and “don't touch me” attitude. These characteristics are the things we loved and made her so special to us.
The experience of photographing Lucy and having the privilege to photograph the winners for a local area Humane Society calendar. Has given me the inspiration to capture the unique personalities of your pet, and capturing the special bond they have to us. By giving my love of photography “Gone to the Dogs” I’m creating portraits that speak to the heart, giving a portrait into the eyes of dedication and love.
